"Most people who deal in words don’t have much faith in them and I am no exception – especially the big ones like Happy and Love and Honest and Strong. They are too elusive and far to relative when you compare them to sharp, mean little words like Punk and Cheap and Phony. I feel at home with these, because they’re scrawny and easy to pin, but the big ones are tough and it takes either a priest or a fool to use them with any confidence.”
"As rich as I mean it" is an ongoing art project using words type written onto polaroids. "Say something as rich as I mean it" was a sentiment expressed to me by someone I know and it stuck. I've always been concerned about not being able to convey using just words how deeply I mean something and this project starts to talk a little bit about that. There have always been words that hold more meaning than others--you can feel them when you say them rather than just hearing them. I keep a list of these words and their definitions and have been pairing them with polaroids that I take that feel like that word to me.
